Digital footprint

Today I did digital footprints with Paul. We had to create our own poster, own comic life with 5 facts and 4 messages about cyber safety.

Here are some facts

1. People fake their age on websites eg. Facebook

2. People hack you if your password too simple so make them hard.

3. You have an IMEI number in your phone to keep it safe
IMEI - International Mobile Equipment Identity

4. An example of information they ask for to do  an account on a game are things like birthdate, first and last names, email address etc.

put a bit of color in the day

Today I did some cool frangipani  on my background. The background is a cool golden colour with pink , black , purple and green splashes on it. To do the frangipani you do 5 curved lines in a sun like shape then make like a teardrop. After that, complete it by turning it into a flower petal then there you've got it - a complete masterpiece.

Lets go back and forth

Today at p4c with Jenny we had to think about what life was like 50 years ago and what has changed in  50 years. Well schooling has changed lots, technology has been expanded from TVs to Ipads, Ipods and Iphones. Then we had to think of what will be made in the next 50 years. I think hoverboards and lots more transport will be created. Also so much more technology.

Good bye.

Number cross outs

Hi Everybody.
Finally back after the long weekend.

5 minutes ago I had just finished finding the prime numbers on a hundreds board. There were 25 prime numbers on  the board . It was hard looking for all the numbers, then crossing out the other 75 numbers left. At the start of the session, we had to do an angles worksheet based on the last session of work, it was the easiest part of our maths.

Bye and talk with you later.

Discovery (Just a week away argh)

Today so far has been an incredibly rushed day with discovery. Well it's only one week away from the Spring Fling. We all rushed to get our final touches on our poster boards or computer presentations finished.
Now Most of Us Are practicing our presentations for the spring fling. The discovery is about our family history. It has a family tree , countries of importance , pros and cons of immigration in a country of importance and pros and cons of immigration in New Zealand.

Art Art And More Excellent Art

Today I had a great day doing Art, Passion Project and Discovery.

I did the best at discovery because I went and did lots of fixing up to my presentation and made some new pieces to add to the slideshow on my countries of importance.

I did okay working on finding additional information for the Greeks part of me and Kyle's website and also finding a myth to add to my part of the website.

I did well doing my art (Picasso portrait), by making a cool background with three different designs and making patterns and thickening my lines.

Passion project getting better!

Well hello. I have just found more info on Greece and changed my word colors to Maroon so now it looks way better. Kyle and I also got a long old story about king Midas and the donkey ears. We thought we should use the myths of Greece and Rome to make a page about myths on our website. Also I thought in my writing, I should add phonetics to the greek gods names so that it is easier for people to understand their names like Zeus - Z-oo-s.
Hades - Hay-dees
and Demeter - Dee-mee-ter

Well, where was I? Ah yes, finally we decided to add more fun facts about Greece and Rome.

Garageband importing songs to itunes

Hola and welcome to Garageband. Today I learnt how to convert you tube songs onto an itunes playlist. At the end of the session I had already converted 9 songs from you tube to my itunes playlist and also had three of my Garageband songs attached to my playlist. It was an excellent way to make playlists on itunes. At the end of the session I shared my newly made playlist to the group.

Gracias for reading my blog. Gracias- means thank you in Spanish. Hola- means hello in Spanish.

Garageband and passion project

At Garageband today I learnt how to arrange and paste parts of musical instruments and then I played my song to everyone in the group, they liked it. Then Jacob played his, it was random and funny. During passion time I wrote out all the greek gods of our website and also found out fun facts about Greece. Did you know that 80 percent of Greece is mountain terrain and the Greeks created the vending machine that you see at stores or places!

Garageband

I was in the world of music today with Paul. At the start, we listened to one of Lordes songs on garageband. Then we selected an area of the song to split and then delete. Then we got to create a tune of our own with different types of musical instruments (Loops). I made a  song with Acoustic guitars and pianos.
I used the music to make a rock piece.
My Favourite one was my acoustic slow song.

1st Week Back Hooray

For the First week back we did 3 rotations in one day. It worked better than spreading it over three weeks. As a game, we played Piccadilly Circus. Our best time was 29.5 seconds. For the Rotations we did Tanennbaum's Model of giftedness with Katie, Digital Footprint with Paul and Stress with Nicola Everyone attended each of these.  At Katie's rotation I had to do stuff on Tanennbaum's model of giftedness he has five parts of what it means to be gifted. At Paul's rotation we worked more on the digital footprint as an activity we made a digital footprint with 4 facts on it. Finally at Nicola's rotation we learned ways to relax which included doodling a picture of our choice and listening to relaxing music as a way of calming you down.

Perfectionism

Are you a perfectionist ? Well I am. I always want my test scores to turn out good instead of horrible but it doesn't happen all the time. For perfectionism we did a test and to my luck it was a math test, it was a five minute test, in the end I finished first and was the only one to complete it. Before we left we watched a forty slide video about perfectionism.

"Almost perfect but not quite"
those were the words of Mary Hume
at her seventh birthday party,
looking 'round the ribboned room.
"This tablecloth is pink not white,
Almost perfect but not quite.

Overexcitability!!!

Hello everybody!!!!! It was just your normal day at Enrich - a chess game.

Then it all changed with the Overexcitabilities workshop. Our task was to come up with 10 overexcitabilities that we have had in our lives.

After that we went and did the passion project proposals.  For my passion project I will be doing Greek and Roman mythology with Kyle.  Our main goal is to create a big keynote then if there is extra time we may build a replica of the Parthanon. I will be researching greek and kyle will be searching roman.

THANK YOU FOR READING MY BLOG.

Brain training

Earlier today I did a bunch of brain training activities, there were spot the differences , logical games like Chess , Sudoku and Checkers and a game where you move your mouse to hit these colourful balls, when you get 3 of the same colour beside each other they disappear.  The game was called "The game you can't stop".  My score was 140 and in spot the difference I got 7 spot the differences completed. The rebuses today are....TMC                           King Garfeild , Queen FelixAUO                           King Scooby , Queen Lassie HSM

Wuzzles

Words and puzzles - in short terms - Wuzzles. As a brain-booster today I got to do Wuzzles.  The way a Wuzzle works is that you get letters then turn them into a brain-racking puzzle. Nicola's puzzles were.... you have a sheet with 1 - 20 on it,  then there was a box with 20 different shape types. We had to put the shapes in alphabetical order - oh,  and this was just the warm-up. The second sheet was horizontal alphabetical order. There were 15 puzzles with random letters scattered in a line. EXAMPLE:
1.cgumnti
2.hloweqaz
3.jiygeas

Lordes giftedness

"You need to memorise this sheet".
These were the worst words I'd ever heard out of Nicola's mouth. 7 other people and I had to memorise the 11 scholarly habits. I found it Extremely Treacherous. Eventually, the good stuff came. We got a sheet that had the 11 scholarly habits listed. Then we got to watch a video where Lorde's teacher was talking about Lorde.
I found that Lorde is very gifted.

My final rotation was Aurasma. Aurasma is an app  where you can go to images that have videos in them. I got paired up with Daniel. Daniel and I made a video , named it then finally put it in a picture.  We could then watch the video using the app.

Stay tuned for next weeks blog.

Curly questions

Hi everyone, This is my second blog of the year. We learned the difference between open questions and closed questions. Open questions require a long descriptive answer while closed questions require one word answer.
About an hour ago I had to think of 10 curly questions for Daniel. It made me think hard about what I wanted to know about Daniel. E.g Who inspires you? What do they do to inspire you? He said Steve Irwin. Another question was What do you have a passion for and why? Daniel said he would like to do science because then he could do chemistry.

Bye for today.

Personal Thinker's Key

Today I have learned about the personal thinker's key with Nicola. In this session we got a sheet with 15 questions about ourselves.... I will give you 3 examples. No.1 was I wish to go to australia this year.  No.6 was I love cats and No.4 was I'm worried about snakes. Then we did something funny we put the answer to number 6 where 4 was and 4 were 6. That meant that I said I love snakes and that I was worried about cats! Then finally, we were told that we had won $1'000'000, and had to choose what would be the first thing we would do on our Personal list. I picked that I would buy a trip to Australia.
