Ewwww yuck - A plate of boiled swede

If you were wondering what I did after my blog last week then you've came to the right blog. We did teacher led workshops and I went to poetry. I was with Jacob, Hamish, Daniel and Thomas. We had to make three haikus about our least favourite food, our favourite food, and chess. A haiku is a way of writing a poem out using 3 verses.  The first verse has 5 syllables, the next 7 syllables and the last one has 5 syllables. Now here's what I wrote:

This is the least favourite food:

Boiled Swede:

Sloppy, orange muck
Ball of garbage on my plate
Stinking out the house

Chess:

Noble warriors
Black versus white, battle on
Strategy of war.

MADE AWARDS!!

Just earlier today, we were doing talent development. I have transferred group so now I have joined into the MADE Awards group with Kyle, Neave and Natasha.  We are making a documentary for this national competition. We have decided that we are going to do a kids science lab.  We are going to base  our science lab on dry ice experiments. Our actual purpose is to see if dry ice can blow up a balloon? We are making a plan at this point for our video. It will probably be done in the chemistry lab space up the front of our classroom. That's what we did today for talent development.

The Three Rings

Guess what we did today? Here's what we did. We had a part of the morning doing Affective Domain. Katie brought up an image of three rings. This is a model of giftedness by a man named Joseph Renzulli. The three things that he says you need to be gifted are:  Task Commitment, Above Average Ability, and Creativity. Next, she showed us another model of giftedness. That one was about Francoise Gagne's perspective.  His model is REALLY big, but if you had to say it in one sentence - you are born with a gift, and you need to work hard to grow your gift.  Along the way, good and bad things can happen, but you have to keep persisting!!!

3 Dimensions 3 Directions

Just now I was learning how to sketch with Darryn we started with a face for lesson 1. Then we scrolled down to lesson 2 and did another face that had lots of different parts to draw. The final lesson was of a person holding a pair of balloons. Darryn drew a pair of apples on a plate then he showed us 3 dimensions which mean 3 directions. The secret to good drawing is keep looking at what you are drawing - don't guess what you think it looks like. This is part of my passion time - I am exploring ART!
